Tears in window or door screens can be a frustrating problem, but fortunately, they are also relatively easy to repair. With a few simple tools and some basic knowledge, you can quickly patch up any tears and prevent bugs and debris from entering your home.

First, start by cleaning the screen thoroughly to remove any dirt or debris. Once it is dry, use a pair of scissors to trim any loose or frayed threads around the tear. Next, cut a piece of screen patch slightly larger than the tear. Apply a small amount of clear household glue around the edges of the tear and press the patch firmly into place. Hold the patch in place for a few minutes to allow the glue to dry.

Alternatively, you can use a screen repair kit, which includes a patch and adhesive. Simply follow the instructions on the kit to cut the patch to size and apply the adhesive. If the tear is particularly large, you may need to replace the entire screen. This can be done by removing the old screen and attaching a new one using a screen roller and spline.
