A term that has been tossed around a lot in the past couple of years is “personal protective equipment”, or PPE. Of course, PPE has been around for a long time, but it seems like it’s been used the most recently to describe wearing a mask in public to protect against COVID-19. While that topic has caused a lot of polarizing opinions, the general topic of PPE has been described as “essential” and “important” in most workplaces for many years.

However, PPE is not just for use at the workplace. Even around your home, it’s important to protect yourself from the potential safety hazards that can be found in everyday activities and do-it-yourself home improvement projects. For example, when you’re dealing with weed killer or other chemicals, do you wear gloves or safety glasses? This is just one example of common use of PPE at a home. Why not take a minute before you tackle your next project to see if there’s some PPE you should use to keep yourself safe?
