Caring for your health is probably high up on your list of priorities right now, and you might have taken steps to protect yourself to the best of your ability. One of the items that many panic hoarded early on in the COVID-19 outbreak was hand sanitizer. This is very convenient to carry along when you are in an area where there is a risk of infection. You can just pull out a bottle from your pocket whenever you touch a surface that could be contaminated and kill any traces of the virus on your hands with a vigorous rub. The only problem is that it isn’t 100% effective. Hand sanitizer does not do quite the job that washing your hands with soap and hot water does.
Soap will kill the virus, but also prevent it from attaching to your skin, causing it to wash off when you rinse your hands with hot water.
