I guess you probably didn’t expect to come to a home inspection website and find a blog post about grilling tips! Rest assured, this is not a sign of our changing the focus of our business. However, we do have tips for you when it comes to the best use of your grill!
One of the things you should be aware of when using your grill is the airflow surrounding it. If you’ve got a charcoal grill, carbon monoxide may be an issue. More common, though, is the potential for heat to warp or melt part of your home if the grill is placed too close to it. When you’re done using the grill, be sure to clean it – bits of food and grease left in the inside can easily cause flare-ups. If you have a gas grill, it’s a good idea to check out the inner parts from time to time.
